All tourists visiting a hotel will be temporarily granted a free health coverage plan that will include emergency coverage, telemedicine services, accommodations for prolonged stay and flight change costs in the event that they test positive for COVID-19. This will be provided at no cost visitors arriving on or before April 30, 2021, and will be covered 100% by the Dominican State. Additionally, at the end of September, the requirement to present a negative COVID-19 test performed prior to the visit was removed. Instead, random rapid tests will be carried out upon arrival, such as the breath test. 


IMPORTANT NOTICE: Please be advised that as of April 1, 2021, visitors entering or leaving the Dominican Republic will be required to complete and submit a digital entry and exit form that includes the traveler’s Customs Declaration, International Embarkation/Disembarkation form and Health Affidavit, required by the Ministry of Public Health, to mitigate the spread of COVID-19 and optimize the entry and departure processes.

Visitors will need to complete one form for arrival up to 72 hours prior to travel, and another one for departure. The system will generate corresponding QR codes for each form. Visitors can print or take a screenshot of the QR codes, and keep them on hand to be scanned by local authorities at Customs.

  • All guests are welcomed by bellboys who are wearing a face mask and offer hand-sanitizing gel. 
  • Luggage items are disinfected upon guest arrival by the bellboys.

  • This area is clearly marked for appropriate physical distancing, with Plexiglas dividers at front desks. 
  • All hotel wristbands and keys are disinfected prior to providing these to guests.

  • Extremely strict sanitizing protocols and world-recognized standards are used to clean guest rooms with an emphasis on high-contact surfaces such as television, remote controls, phone, faucets, door, closet and drawer handles, curtains, light switches, air conditioning thermostats, balcony items, and more.
  • Printed collateral such as menus or flyers have been eliminated from all guest rooms to reduce the risk of contamination—all hotel information are accessible on the hotel’s website or through a QR code.
  • To minimize team member interaction with guests in the room, rooms are cleaned every other day or upon request during your stay. 
  • Full sanitization of guest rooms after each departure.
  • Room service is packaged accordingly and delivered directly to the door with no contact.
  • Masks and gloves provided to housekeeping and maintenance teams
  • The frequency of air filter replacement and HVAC system cleaning has been increased. 
  • Express check-out is available for guest with 0 balance.

COMMON AREAS

  • The use of facial coverings/face masks is required for hotel guests in all public areas with the exception of outdoor spaces, by the pool or beach or while actively eating and/or drinking or smoking. Designated areas include common indoor spaces such as the hotel lobby, retail stores, elevators, waiting areas of common facilities (like spa, salon, restaurants or bars), and the theater.  SAFE + SOUND kits with disinfectant wipes & masks are available at the front desk. 
  • We have increased the frequency of deep-cleaning and disinfecting all common and public spaces.
  • Dedicated measures for high-contact surfaces such as front desk check-in counters, elevators and elevator buttons, door handles, public bathrooms, room keys and locks, ATMs, handrails, tables, gym equipment, kids club, dining surfaces seating areas, pool chairs and more.

 

Pool and Beach Sanitation

 

POOL & BEACH AREA

  • All 13 pools are open.
  • Pool activities will be temporarily suspended.
  • Pool and beach chairs will be cleaned between every use, and spaced out to ensure appropriate physical distancing.
  • Pool chlorine levels will be safely elevated within a permitted range.
  • Swim-up bars will not be operating for the time being. However, drink and food service will still be available poolside and beachside through our servers.

  • Restaurants operating hours are subject to change. 
  • Self-service buffets are no longer available and have been replaced with assisted buffets at select restaurants including: 
    • Isla (breakfast and lunch)

  • Restaurant menus are available through a QR code and on one-time-use disposable handouts to minimize exposure and contact.
  • Teppanyaki is available with a maximum capacity of 8 people per table.

  • Standard measurements in meeting and event layouts have been redesigned to ensure necessary physical distance between attendees and guests.
  • Selfserve buffet offerings will be eliminated, and replaced with alternate food service options such as plated service and more.
     

 

FLEXIBLE POLICY

We continue to review the cancellation policy based on the latest updates from the global & local authorities. To provide you with further peace of mind, if you book your hotel stay through April 30, for travel until December 17, 2021, you may change your hotel stay dates up to 24 hours prior to arrival with no penalty for travel up to December 18th, 2021 (a difference in rates may apply, this is subject to availability).

If you are traveling from a country that has implemented a government travel restriction to our destination, please contact your booking source to discuss options. If you request a refund and your booked rate applies to it, please consider that due to the current situation it may take 45 days or more. We will attend each request in the order it has been received.
