IF YOU LIKE TO GO BEYOND CONVENTIONS, THESE PLACES WILL NOT LEAVE YOU INDIFFERENT

With its volcanoes, natural parks, beaches, and villages such as La Laguna, La Orotava or the city of Santa Cruz, it is difficult to run out of a great plan to enjoy our island and nice places in Tenerife. And if you also stay at Hard Rock Hotel Tenerife, fun is guaranteed!

Design restaurants, our artist’s memorabilia that form a unique museum and music as the main thread of your stay… If you have chosen us, you are not satisfied with a conventional holiday and that is why we have made this short selection of places in Tenerife that will not appear in your travel guide, but that you should not miss!

THE ELEVATOR OF LA GORDEJUELA (LOS REALEJOS)

The protagonist of many of the photos of Instagrammers who visit Tenerife, the Elevator of La Gordejuela was a milestone in its time for the complexity of its construction and also for containing, neither more nor less than the first steam engine of the Island of Tenerife

Built-in 1903 by the Hamilton corporation, its objective was to use the waters of the area to give strength to the flour mill.

How do you get there?

Mirador de San Pedro will be your point of reference, and you can also see it from the Protected Natural Landscape of Rambla de Castro. Although its access to the building is cut and can only be enjoyed from the viewpoint for your safety.

FROM URBAN ART TO SURFING

In Puerto de la Cruz you will find the alternative environment you are looking for. Declared in 1995 Area of National Tourist Interest, it has a careful historical centre in which to take a walk through its streets.

Its fishing district, La Ranilla, is one of the most alternative on the island and its proposal is Puerto Street Art, creating an open-air museum in which works by world artists decorate the walls of this humble neighbourhood that forms a unique community.

And although its urban art is the most photographed of the island, its nature and water activities make it one of the favourite spots on the island to practice paddle surfing, diving or bodyboarding. And if the sea does not finish convincing your seafaring soul, you can always take a bath in the pools of Lake Martinez that surround you.

TANCÓN CAVE (SANTIAGO DEL TEIDE)

If we were to find another name for Cueva Tacón it would be “Cave of Paradise”. Its beauty and volcanic features will transport you to a magical bath in the sea. With a tube and your glasses, you can admire their fish and the beauty of their colours and bluish tones.

To immerse, you just have to follow a path next to the Barceló Hotel in Puerto Santiago, but if the sea is rough, you should not take a risk!

Without a doubt, a safe dip is essential to enjoy this small encapsulated paradise that we recommend within the places in Tenerife that as a rocker you can not miss.
